French II Course Description
FRENCH II 1 credit Grades 9-12
Prerequisite: 75% average in French I and teacher approval By the end of the course, a French II student would be expected to communicate at the novice-high proficiency level according to the national ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) standards. Novice-high language students can describe with phrases and identify with short sentences in the present time frame. Classroom instruction is conducted in French ideally 90% of the time. Students continue to build upon previous reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. Students also gain insight into other cultures, as well as their own. Using interpretive, interpersonal and presentational modes of communication, assessments will measure what students can do with the language. Instruction and learning is not limited to the classroom, but includes the utilization of technology as well as interactions within the community. Classroom Documents:
